Alicia Holston

Alicia HolstonAlicia is Project Manager for Geodesity.

Alicia previously served as NTLP's collection development specialist for the North Texas Libraries on the Go Overdrive Consortium  She worked as a network administrator and GUI programmer and quality control tester for a software company in Dallas before moving into a career in libraries in 2005. In 2006 she started working toward her master’s degree in library science at the University of North Texas, with a focus on library services for young adults. Alicia is co-creator and the current Chair of the Maverick Graphic Novel Committee.

Alicia has over seven years’ experience working with public libraries, in almost all functions and positions, including IT troubleshooter and storytime facilitator. During her time in public libraries she worked closely with Sirsi and received training on how to maximize the potential of the library’s ILS. She was the Overdrive coordinator for her library and one of the trainers on use of ebook readers for the public. She then moved into being the collection specialist for the NTLP Overdrive consortium and is now the project coordinator for NTLP’s emergent ebook platform, Geodesity.

Often asked what super power she would have if she could, Alicia wishes for the ability to stop or manipulate time so there are more hours in the day to get everything done and still read a good book.
