The NTLP Consulting Project provides for NTLP to meet the consulting needs of Texas libraries.  In some cases NTLP staff assist the library directly with particular activities; in other cases NTLP staff provide information in response to specific requests, or contract with third-party consultants to provide assistance.

Consulting includes activities such as:

  • Collection Development
  • Community Analysis
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Disaster Planning
  • Image Audits
  • Long Range Planning
  • Policy Development
  • Return on Investment (ROI) Analysis
  • Space Planning
  • Survey Development
  • E-Rate Assistance
  • Grant-Writing Assistance
  • Integrated Library System (ILS) Assistance
  • Library Establishment Assistance
  • Outreach to the Underserved (O2U) Project
  • Technology Consulting and Planning
  • Texas Public Library Standards
  • Assistance with planning collaborative projects

During FY2008 NTLP commissioned consultants to prepare reports on a range of topics related to libraries in North Texas.  Those reports are available here.

For FY 2012, TSLAC funding enables NTLP to provide free brief one-on-one consulting to TSLAC-accredited libraries in the NTRLS service area.  We can also offer free brief consulting to NTLP partner libraries in FY 2012 and beyond.  More in-depth consulting is available for a fee, with a discount available to NTLP Partner Libraries.
